The Stevens Center is making outdoor improvements to a park behind the center, and we need a little help with a few things:
- Weeding flowerbeds
- Painting the ceiling of a 10x10 pavilion
- Trimming branches from overhanging trees (done from the ground)
- Installing wooden signposts for a new walking/nature trail and removing obstacles from the trail
If you can bring your own chainsaw, we could really use your help! If you can bring a shovel, rake, or hoe, this will supplement our available tools, but it's not required.
Several pairs of safety glasses will be available. Hand sanitizer and handwashing facilities will be available. If you are working near others, you must wear a mask over both your nose and mouth. Most of this work can be done at a safe social distance.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn. Bring your own gardening/work gloves. Volunteers age 16 and up are welcome; minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
