

Who We Are
MISSION: The Alliance of Black Leaders and Educators (ABLE) works to increase educational opportunities for Black students in Lee County, North Carolina by eliminating inequities that impact educational success. Current and historical data for academic proficiency, matriculation into higher education following high school graduation, and data on disciplinary action in our county, state and country indicate that there is a disconnect with school for students of diverse backgrounds, with students who identify as Black or African American often experiencing the most struggle in having healthy, rewarding and successful educational experiences. The Alliance of Black Leaders and Educators (ABLE) is a growing group of individuals and organizational partners who are united by a mutual devotion to positively impact the academic and life advancement of Black students in Lee County, North Carolina. ABLE strives to increase opportunities and eliminate inequities that impact educational success. We believe that an investment in a Black students is an investment in our community, our state, our nation and our world.
What We Do

- Workshops, resources and support for parents and community
